Jira Consultant – Workflows, SLA & Zoho Integration
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Jira Consultant to configure, optimize, and support Jira for service delivery and business process management.
The consultant will be responsible for Jira workflows, SLA management, time tracking/timesheet integration, dashboards, automation, and Zoho integrations. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on Jira administration experience and be capable of delivering the required configuration and integrations independently within a short-term engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and optimize Jira workflows, issue types, screens, schemes, and permissions according to business requirements.
- Configure and customize Jira Service Management (JSM) where applicable.
- Set up and manage SLA policies, including:
- Response time targets
- Resolution time targets
- SLA goals
- Business calendars
- Escalations and notifications
- Develop Jira dashboards and reports to track:
- SLA compliance
- Ticket status
- Team workload
- Productivity
- Performance metrics
- Configure time tracking and timesheet capture within Jira.
- Integrate Jira with third-party timesheet solutions such as Tempo Timesheets or similar platforms.
- Design and implement integrations between Jira and Zoho applications, including Zoho People, Zoho Books, Zoho CRM, or other relevant Zoho products.
- Use REST APIs, webhooks, native connectors, automation, or middleware to establish Jira–Zoho integrations.
- Define data mapping, field mapping, synchronization rules, and data transformation requirements between Jira and Zoho.
- Validate synchronization accuracy and troubleshoot integration failures.
- Configure Jira Automation rules for notifications, workflow actions, escalations, and automated updates.
- Create and optimize JQL queries, custom fields, filters, gadgets, and dashboards.
- Perform end-to-end testing of workflows, SLAs, automation, time tracking, and integrations.
- Identify and resolve configuration and integration issues before go-live.
- Support production go-live and post-go-live stabilization.
- Prepare technical documentation covering Jira configuration, workflows, SLA rules, integrations, and operational procedures.
- Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and brief the client team on the implemented solution.
- Work independently and deliver within the defined 1–2 month engagement timeline.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of overall experience, with at least 6+ years of hands-on Jira administration and configuration.
- Strong experience with Jira Software and/or Jira Service Management (JSM).
- Proven hands-on experience configuring Jira SLAs and developing SLA dashboards/reports.
- Strong understanding of:
- Jira Workflows
- Issue Types
- Screens
- Custom Fields
- Permission Schemes
- Notification Schemes
- Workflow Conditions/Validators/Post Functions
- Hands-on experience with Jira Automation.
- Strong knowledge of JQL, Filters, Gadgets, Dashboards, and Reporting.
- Experience implementing time tracking and timesheet solutions, preferably Tempo Timesheets or similar.
- Proven experience integrating Jira with Zoho applications.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, API authentication, data mapping, and synchronization.
- Experience with integration/middleware tools such as Zapier, Make, Workato, or similar is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to understand business requirements and quickly translate them into Jira configurations and integrations.
- Experience delivering projects within short timelines is highly desirable.

- Atlassian Certified Professional/Expert certifications
- Experience with Zapier, Make, Workato, or other integration platforms.
- Prior experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) environments.
- Experience with professional services organizations involving time tracking, timesheets, resource utilization, or time-based billing.
- Knowledge of ITIL/service management processes.
- Experience with Jira Cloud administration and Atlassian ecosystem integrations.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Jira Consultant/Administrator, rather than a project manager or general Atlassian user. The candidate must have practical experience with Jira workflows, JSM SLAs, dashboards, JQL, automation, timesheet integration, and Jira–Zoho API/integration work, with the ability to independently complete the implementation within a short engagement.
